Crash Tests

We put safety first

All Sorino car seats have undergone rigorous crash testing in accordance with the latest ADAC test criteria.

This ensures that they exceed the standards set by European regulations and norms.

New ADAC testing criteria since 2025

  • Speed: 50 km/h
  • Acceleration distance: approx. 13 seconds
  • Impact timing: after a very short acceleration phase (almost immediately)
  • Barrier: rigid concrete wall (no crumple zone)
  • Vehicle: larger (SUV, e.g. Kia Sportage)

What does this mean in practice?

  • The vehicle accelerates and impacts after ~13 seconds of travel
  • No deformation = sudden stop and a very sharp force impulse

Effect:

  • Despite the lower speed → higher loads acting on the child
  • A more “shock-like” impact compared to previous tests

To ensure maximum safety, our car seats are tested in leading industry crash laboratories. The tests are conducted in accordance with the latest ADAC criteria. We evaluate parameters such as:

  • HIC - Head Injury Criterion
  • Head acceleration loads
  • Neck acceleration loads
  • Chest acceleration loads
  • Head displacement

What is the difference between homologation tests and ADAC tests?

The table below presents a comparison of crash test conditions.

Parameter R129/04 ADAC (since 2025)
Impact speed 50 km/h 50 km/h
Barrier type deformable / modeled rigid wall
Offset partial / configuration-dependent none (full frontal)
Side impact ~24 km/h ~50 km/h
Pulse characteristics milder, longer sharper, shorter
Peak acceleration ~28–35 G ~40–50 G
Test realism medium high

Conclusion: Despite the same speed, ADAC creates significantly more severe conditions due to the rigid barrier and sharper impact pulse.

A child’s safety begins even before the journey — with choosing the right car seat.

That’s why every SORINO model undergoes rigorous crash testing that simulates real-life road scenarios. We place particular emphasis on the 2025 standards of ADAC, recognized as one of the most demanding in Europe.

It is precisely thanks to these tests that we can be confident the seat not only meets standards, but truly protects what matters most.

Not only the forces acting during a collision are analyzed, but also structural stability, material quality, and the level of side-impact protection.By choosing our car seats, you are choosing technology based on facts, not promises.

Because safety should never be a compromise — it should be the standard.
